How is it like to dive? You can get an answer to that question by visiting “Under Sail For 1000 Years” at Odense harbour. Here the Danish Navy Diving School has set up a swimming pool on the pier where visitors to the festival can try out diving. The only requirement for getting into the pool with dry suit and breathing equitment is that you have to be more than 15 years old.
During the first days of the festival mostly schoolchildren have taken advantage of this offer but also a few teachers and other visitors have had the opportunity to feel a small part of a divers dalily life on their own body.
The Danish Navy Diving School is the diver school for the Danish Defence and trains both military personell and civilians to become professional divers. Danish Navy Diving School is situated at Holmen and commands the diving vessel LÆSØ which is also at Odense harbour during “Under Sail For 1000 Years”.
