DANEX 06:
The extremely destructive hurricane HERCULES has struck the fictive province of Vendia. Everything is destroyed and there is a great need for help from the outside. A request for help has been issued from the local authorities to the international community and a naval force from Farawayland, which is in the area, gets ready to provide aid.

This is the scenario for the Disaster Relief Operation (DRO) that takes place on September 11 during DANEX 06 in the area surrounding Jerup Strand.

The purpose of the exercise is to demonstrate how international and national military forces and non-military organisations can co-operate to help a civilian community in distress.

Around 100 figurants will act as wounded and choked Vendians with different needs for aid. The local Police and the Danish support ship ESBERN SNARE together with the Danish Emergency Management Agency also contribute significantly to the exercise. Furthermore, the Army’s 5. Logistic Battalion will establish a field hospital at the beach in Jerup.
