For the first time – as far as any one on board can remember – two German helicopters conducted a hoist operation from the helicopter deck on HDMS THETIS.
The helicopters were taksed to hoist a liason officer from the Patrol Company that is established by the Danish Home Guard and is operationally placed under the Army Operations Command Denmark. He has supported the staff of the Danish Task Group (DATG) while to patrols from the company performed intelligence and combat tasks for the Navy during DANEX 06.

”It has been a great and inspiring experience to co-operate with DATG. I have really gotten a good insight on their work. My primary assignment was to provide vital informations from the patrols, which have been in action for a couple of days on an island in Kattegat,” says liason officer, Lieutenant Preben Bille Brahe.
The patrols have e.g. destroyed missiles which was a threat to the Navy’s free movement in Kattegat. The Helicopters flew the ling way from Zealand to the THETIS with a stop at Air Base Aalborg for refuellingm, before returning to their temporary base at Kongsøre.
