Island Command Faroes

ISCOMFAROES area of responsibility is the territorial sea covering an area from the Faroese baselines out to a distance of 12 nautical miles and the Faroese 200 nautical miles Fishery Zone. ISCOMFAROES peacetime tasks are:

• Surveillance
• Exercise sovereignty
• Obtain military intelligence
• Fishery inspection
• Logistic support to military units
• Exercise police authority at sea
• Assistance to the police
• Support to local authorities and the Faroese community
• Military adviser to the Danish High Commissioner
