Welcome to Jutland Dragoons Regiment

Jutland Dragoons Regiment was established in 1932 by the amalgamation of 3rd Dragoons Regiment and 5th Dragoons Regiment. At the same time the amalgamated Regiment inherited the common history of these two regiments which dates back to the establishment November the 1st 1679. On August the 1st 2005 the Prince Life Regiment and Jutland Dragoons Regiment were amalgamated under the name Jutland Dragoons Regiment. Both Regiments were founded by General Field Marshal Ernst von Eberstein and both regiments have proud traditions in cavalry and heavy infantry respectively.

The regiment belongs to the combat troops and consist af three battalions. The Armor Battalion consists of a headquarter squadron, two squadrons af tanks Leopard 2 and a armord infantery compani with infantry combat vehicles. II Armored Infantry Batallion consists of a headquarter company and an armored infatry company with inaftry combat vehicles. Both Battalions can establish a mechanized infantry compagny. V Training Battalion has two squadrons conducting training of two national service team og approx. 300 conscripts every year. The Training Battallion must recruit suiable soldiers for the ArmyTraining and Response to the Army educations. If the need arises, JDR can set a battalion tasked to train personel for an upcoming mission.

Jutland Dragoon Regiment aims to be the foremost regiment in the army. This is done by a thoroughly professional approach to service, based on good individual skills and fighting units of high quality. All out of mutual respect between the ranks but without compromising on the requirements.

Jutland Dragoon Regiment contributes regularly to international engagement and can periodically send up to a reinforced battallion.

The Regimental motto is: “Fortes Fortuna Juvat” witch means “Fortune of the Brave”.
