In front of the Danish Navy crews and accompanied by their measured steps the Danish Naval Band played its way through Aalborg.

The tradition bound march followed by the maritime divine service began at nine a.m. at Aalborg harbour where the off duty part of the navy crews mustered on the pier. With Admiral Danish Fleet, Rear admiral Nils Wang, in front, the crews then marched through the streets of the city to Budolfi Church where they participated in the service.

The church march followed by the service is an established part of the DANEX exercise, and this year the service, lead by Naval Dean Ejgil Bank Olesen, was conducted in connection with the DANEX force’s weekend stay in Aalborg. The Naval Dean was however not alone with the task. During the service, Lene Wadskær Munch and Carsten Olav Christensen were instated as Naval Chaplains and took care of respectively the sermon and the Holy Communion.
