Faster and Better Access to the Danish Armed Forces' Image Archive

If you need images from the activities of the Danish Armed Forces, you must now go to the website www.forsvaretsmediearkiv.dk starting December 1st. The previous website www.forsvarsgalleriet.dk will be closed.

The change is happening because the Armed Forces has switched to a more up-to-date system.

As a new feature, everyone can gain access to a selection of over 500 of the Armed Forces' best images, as well as a few videos, without needing to be registered as a user.

If you require images of specific items that are not available, you can contact mediearkiv@mil.dk

Archive Access

If you have a relevant purpose, you can apply for access to a larger selection of historical images by contacting mediearkiv@mil.dk. It is possible to gain access to:

Current images (a collection of over 25,000 photos)

Historical images (a collection of over 100,000 photos)

Whether access can be granted will be based on an individual assessment. The username and password from the former Forsvarsgalleriet cannot be used for the Armed Forces' Media Archive.

Employees within the Danish Ministry of Defence's domain can automatically gain access to parts of the archive if they log into the Media Archive with their Koncern Login (Group Login).

Employees from the Ministry of Defence's domain can log in with their Group Login using the top button. External users who have received a username and password must use the bottom button. The text on the buttons will be changed soon. Previous usernames and passwords from Forsvarsgalleriet cannot be used.
