Through our participation in international conflict-prevention, peacekeeping, and peace-building efforts mandated by the Danish Parliament, we cooperate with other countries to ensure a more stable and secure world. In short, our mission is to create a more stable and secure everyday life for anybody living within the Danish Realm.
The Danish Armed Forces solve a wide range of tasks in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Internationally Denmark has a longstanding tradition for participating in military international cooperation and operations at the world's trouble spots.
The high command of the Armed Forces encompasses the Chief of Defence and the Chief of Defence Staff, who are based in the Defence Command in Copenhagen.
The Defence Command is Denmark's overall military command authority. The Defence Command consists of the staffs and command levels that in practice configure and command the military units.
The core values of the Danish Armed Forces encapsulate who we are and who we strive to be, whether as individuals or as an organization.
Because something is worth fighting for
In the Armed Forces, we fight for Denmark's security.
We have the courage, the ability, and the will to fight for the national community and for the core values on which our society rests.
We solve tasks for Denmark that no one else can solve. We do it every day and we do it when something extraordinary is required.
We are proud to take care of the Kingdom of Denmark. We do it jointly. And sometimes we do it when lives are at stake.
We do it because it's part of our military identity.
We do it because something is worth fighting for.
