Two U.S. F-16s, two F-35s and two aerial refuelling aircraft operated in Greenland this week with support from the Danish Armed Forces’ CL-604 Challenger and C-130 Hercules.
The purpose of the visit was to demonstrate U.S. presence in the region and to train mutual support and seamless cooperation in the Arctic. During the visit, U.S. and Danish personnel exchanged experience on operating in Greenland’s unique environment. The visit took place at Pituffik Space Base.
Denmark and the United States share a long-standing and close partnership in the Arctic, including through NATO.
