Danish and Polish forces will be training together on Bornholm
The Danish defence will be conducting exercise Baltic Shield 2026 in close co-operation with Polish forces. The exercise will take place on Bornholm and in the Baltic Sea Region. The exercise will be highly visible for the public as it will involve activities at both land, sea and in the air.
The Danish defence will alongside Polish NATO allied soldiers be conducting the exercise Baltic Shield 2026 in the period from the 8th – 14th of May.

In the period from the 8th – 14th of May the people on Bornholm will experience an increased military presence as the Danish defence alongside Polish NATO allied soldiers will be conducting the exercise Baltic Shield 2026.
The exercise will consist of multiple activities, all of which will be used for training of scenarios possible in the area around Bornholm.
The defence of Bornholm and the Baltic Sea Region is a prioritized task for the Danish defence and during Baltic Shield units from Denmark and Poland will be jointly operating on strengthening and defending the strategically important area.
During Baltic Shield 2026 there will be training and exercises on land, sea and air both on the ground at Bornholm and in the surrounding waters and skies in the area from Bornholm to the northern shores of Poland.
The exercise will be handling various threats of both physical and hybrid nature.
Baltic Shield 2026 takes place following a large Swedish military exercise, Aurora 2026, during which the defence of Gotland will be tested and trained. At the same time NATO will conduct a joint staff exercise, which will also include focus on the Baltic Sea Region.
