Allied support brings foreign troops to Denmark
In recent days, a number of countries have announced contributions to Denmark and the Danish authorities. This means that an increased presence of foreign troops and equipment can be expected in the coming period.

Recent aerial observations near civilian and military installations in Denmark are signs of the hybrid threats facing several EU countries. Denmark is therefore cooperating closely with its allies, many of which have contributed concrete units and capabilities that are now, and in the coming period, operating on Danish soil.
“The support we are currently seeing from our close allies is tangible proof of the strong international cooperation of which Denmark is a part, both in the EU and NATO. It enables us to adapt quickly to the present situation and demonstrate that, when it matters, we stand together,” says Chief of Defence, General Michael Wiggers Hyldgaard.

Valuable lessons for NATO
The broad support for Denmark reflects the high level of attention directed at the security situation in Europe. NATO has therefore asked the Danish Defence to collect and share lessons learned with the rest of the Alliance, thereby helping to strengthen cooperation and collective security in countering hybrid threats.
